SOME FORUM often referred to KAMMAKAN. Who is KAMMAKAN and he or they could
really judge amulets correctly and fairly? This is the answer:
1. Kammakan is a Thai
word and used in amulet circle means a judge. Yes, for an amulet judge we call him
Kammakan. Kammakans in an amulet competition fair are mostly composed of amulet dealers
who involve in the AMULET BUSINESS plus with new-to-medium experienced collectors, veteran
collectors and the GOOD-PAY buyers. So, by its structure not all Kammakans are QUALIFIED.
Real qualified Kammakans have NOT many--they are deservedly respected by their knowledge
and justice. Meanwhile MANY are unqualified and merely are Kammakans by their name, a
sarcastical word calling them KAMMAKERN. The word KERN =
over, exceedingly, not appropriate, so the meaning of the KAMMAKERN
here should be a JUTE not a JUDGE. Alas, these JUTEs are
theoretical collectors, they know amulets that have pix printed in amulet books
only--that's the childish collectors. But Thai practical amuletology world is so vast that
the bigger part of them never have been printed but known to QUALIFIED Kammakans and
ADVANCED collectors.
What would happen if a group of JUTEs join a competition
fair? Do they have real knowledge on the amulets? Any guarantee that the JUTEs will not paradoxically judge the amulets before them--the
real are fake while the fakes are real? And any guarantee that the MAJORITY OF TYRANNY
environment due to their unanimous lacking of knowledge on SPECIFIC amulets will not
happen?
2. In some society, collectors ADORE a paper called CERTIFICATE much more than the AMULET
itself. This is the weak point that has caused many FAKE pieces with FAKE certificates
exported for transaction. Yes, many pieces in the market are good with authentic
certificates but certainly still many are both fake items and fake certificates.
Collectors in that society really walk on a tightrope, it's entirely based on the FATE
because most local dealers are not profound experts who could differentiate the
complicated fake pieces.
3. Amulet collecting can be divided into 3 levels: the primary, the middle and the
advance. The primary cling to a paper of certificate, the middle are less leaning to such
the paper, and the advance they RETREAT and get NO INVOLVE in any competition including
give no value to a paper-- they are real SI FU who purely use EYES only to verify an
amulet before them with a long-year experience criteria specifying on both PHIM and
TEXTURE.
4. As mentioned above, there are 2 kinds of judge--the qualified and unqualified.
Please ask them that LP Puak of Wat King Kaew has created how many Phims and types of
amulets, how many periods of his Phra Phong creation, what are the characteristics of
each period amulets of Phra Phong and how they look like, and how they were made, etc.
Ridiculously, some KAMMAKERNs could not even differentiate LP
Puak B.E. 2496 and B.E.2485 amulets.
5. By nature of some qualified writers, they occupy knowledges
both theoretically and practically, otherwise they could not TEACH readers on the
how-to techniques. But the more they write, the more they are hated by some dealers
because their revelations obstruct their business. Some WEB FORUM where the WEB HAWK
involving secret interest given by some local dealers has become a stage of revenge to a
scavenger writer. Please ask the interest-involved WEB HAWK that how much he was paid. |
