LP Chong's Tapian Fish
According to Thai Buddhistic religious legends, before Lord Buddha enlightened Buddhaship, he was born uncountable lives and each of his life he practiced Bodhisatwa Dhamma. Once he was born a Tapian fish. It was legendarily told that the Bodhisdatawa Tapian fish was so kind, he helped protect the merchants sailing for their trade voyage and blessed them a good trading result. This is why a lot of merchants who perform their trade on water in the old times would put one Tapian fish at the front of the vessel while the other one at the back.          

The propitious omen Ta Pian fish when decorated with Yants will become an efficacious amulet for wealh and fortune. Fish in Thai imply abundace of food as an idiom phrase saying " Nai Nam Mee Pla, Nai Na Mee Khao = in water there's fish while in the paddy field there's rice". Fish is also a well-omened symbol of wealth in among Chinese, Teo Chiew Chinese in Thailand will say good words for blessing " Oo Hoo, Oo Choong =  there's fish, there's abundace left". So, the fish is an important food for Chinese couple in the wedding day.

The old-time Gurus prefered making a couple Tapian fish, one silver male and the other the golden female, but they normally differentiate by electro-plating process.The Tapian couple will be called " Tapian Ngern, Tapian Thong" which are beautiful words mean silver and golden Tapians. The primary metal for making Tapian fish will be inscribed with Yant Phra Khawambodi (Sangajayana), Yant Sivali and Yant Nang Kwak. The inscribed silver and gold plate will be melt with bulk raw bronze and make it a thin sheet for impressing the Tapian fish form. After that they will be blessed before distributing to people.

LP Chong of Wat NatangNok made Tapian fish in B.E.2497. There is a Thai word on the Tapian fish's abdomen specified its sex--male or female. And at the top fin there will be a hole for inserting a thread for hanging in the shop or house while many put the Tapian couple on their shirt pocket. In up-country, a lot of farmers hang Tapian fish in his crop-house to protect insects. The Katha for Tapian fish amulet is the Essence of Katha Phra Chim(Sivali): Na Cha Li Ti.
